UPDATE: Prompton Borough received the following bids at the July meeting:
- E.R. Linde Construction Corp.: $19,557
- Bill Pykus Excavating, Inc.: $18,050
Council voted to accept the low bid from Bill Pykus Excavating, Inc.
The Wayne Conservation District has approved Prompton’s application for funding through the Dirt, Gravel, and Low Volume Road (DGLVR) program. The funds are for repairs to Balsam Swamp Road.
The borough will be accepting bids for the project. All bidders must meet with borough officials at the project site. No bids will be considered from bidders who do not attend a pre-bid meeting.
There will be a pre-bid meeting held on location at 7:00 PM, Friday, June 5. Participants should meet at Balsam Swamp Road at the bridge that crosses over the Van Auken Creek.
Sealed bids will be opened at the regular July meeting of the Prompton Borough. The July meeting is tentatively scheduled for July 3 at 8:00 PM. The meeting may be moved to July 10 at 8:00 PM due to the holiday.
A brief summary of the required work follows; details will be provided at the pre-bid meeting:
- Re-shape bank and place R-4
- Pregrade road
- Clean bank
- Create ditchline
- Install R-4 stone
- Resurface roadway
- 14′ wide
- 8″ loose (compacted to 6″) DSA
- 1,380′ approximate total distance
